Were you able to take a look at the slides? Did the information come across clearly? Would you find it beneficial to give me the opportunity to expand? I was hoping next Monday you would be available.

Thx for checking back… yes, I reviewed it. Not sure I fully understand your rev model yet… also, can you better explain the sales model? Who do you sell to and how to do you sell to them and what the sales costs are?

Alvin,

I sell to the coupon advertiser every click on their Clickboard ad that I make them. The cost to me is the placement of the ads on various host sites. Whether the host website charges a monthly rate, pay-per-click, cost per action, or impressions; the Clickboard will in the end cost more (more clicks). I recoupe the amount from the advertiser that the Clickboard garners over the host placement cost.

Coupon collection and management is not limited to mGuanxi.com but can be incorporated within many social networking utilities as you can see with the one slide I gave you. All coupons when accessed and used from the phone, I would pay mInfo for this service. This actually makes the service free to the user.

Hope this adds to the picture,

Alvin,

Basically I am at a never loss scenario and you are at an always win scenario.

I do not lose money from the placement of ads. I make money when coupons are acquired. And I only pay you when a coupon is used.

However, I do need your help with the initial set up.

I was also thinking I could work for you as your mGuanxi representative creating traffic on the website and encouraging people to use the current service until this new project can be established.

Btw, are you thinking of moving to SH or doing all this in tianjing?

Wed, Aug 5, 2009 at 12:36 PM

Alvin,
If I were to leave the magazine it would create quite a stir as to what I am doing next in Tianjin which could prove beneficial in this local market.

To enable Clickboards I believe I would need to spend time in Shanghai but would later like to retreat back to Tianjin. I find Tianjin a good test market if it could be isolated smoothly, before tackling the myriad of clients in Shanghai.

Tentatively I could be in town on the 14th to the 17th.

Alvin wrote me, “Quickly scanned your materials, but didn’t have time to fully dig in and digest all the materials. Would be helpful if you just sent me 5 slides telling me what you are proposing, how we could help each other and the benefits/cists to each side.”

The last part got me thinking, ‘the benefits to each side.’ My current thinking has been very one sided. I wanted him to hire me and support me as I developed and integrated Clickboards into his platform. But what do I get out of it? A salary and advertising shares? Well that is not exactly a trade. I mean I have to do business with the guy and show there is a future with my involvement and provide some measure of growth for his products.

So it struck me. I can approach Alvin saying that I want to add a Clickboard portal to your website. I could explain the benefits to him and how this will help spur his current business. But here is where the real opportunity comes in. The Clickboard portal can be added to any community site whether it be local, national, or global. People can manage their Clickboards at any and everyone of these portals no matter which website they are on. Granted each Clickboard portal will be tailored to the site that it is on and the management of the coupons will be more in line with the site they are on, but the access to all their coupons from Clickboards across the Internet is universal. And this will be key to Alvin.

Any and all Clickbaords can be redeemed using Alvin’s mGuanxi mobile media application. So now I am not stuck to supporting one website but able to grow the Clickboard portal across the web while it is hosted by other people’s websites, now all of them will be integrated for the use of one easy to use phone application, produced and manned by Alvin.

Now I just have to come up with those five slides.

http://www.prweb.com/releases/adinsight-call-tracking/web-route/prweb2353784.htm

At this link you can see how one website is embedded in another. The secondary site is completely functional within its embedded location. The only thing that refreshes is the embedded site.

Now imagine a site that is made up of several embedded sites. For easy understanding take the ads as my first example. All the ads on the site will be there own websites. When I sell advertisements I will give the buyer a list of sizes for the Clickboard spaces on my site as they will change depending on interaction. Then the advertiser will create various websites based on those sizes able to transform if the workspace transform but continue with their current operations where it left off from the last interaction. They will be completely functional all the way to acquisition of coupons or even redemption of coupons and sale. All without disturbing the rest of the site.

Now imagine all the coupons you will be receiving. They will all have to be filed and organized for better use and sharing. Part of the window will be a file folder system that one is instructed to create to categorize coupons into various folders as business, shopping, groceries, and leisure to name a few. Then to manage the folder the contents can be exported to the main platform, again a different website, in the middle of the screen. There you will have options to tag, find out more, share, extend expiration dates, etc.

I really need to draw a picture. But the seperate windows all have to be able to take on different sizes as users switch between contents. It is much easier to explain in person.

So if there are three websites all making up Clickboards.net, they will all share the control panel platform. Each linked and able to update themselves based on input from other parts of the control panel. Even actions in multiple zones will have an overall effect within the control panel. This allows for much more accessibility, ease of use, and immediate results upon your actions. I even want a drag and drop option so files and folders or coupons can be placed in desired locations easily without file location menus like on a normal desktop. The working area is flat. I think that is the biggest difference from the desktop of most computers. But the working area can be guided through multiple actions at once, that is the biggest difference than your browser.

And the work area continuously changes. Transforming certain sections in size depending on your current operations. For example the mail can be listed as to what you are reading, down to in box, down to in folders, down to a menu item on your screen, thus taking up half a page, to a quarter page, to and eighth page, to a one word link. Thus the rest of your operating control panel also shifts with the information displayed. This may seem common place actually, and I really hope it is, basically the changes are a compilation of several operations. I hope to have a drawn representation soon to post.

Websites today are extremely limited. The one and only factor used for navigation is the ‘click’. However I want more. A website should be multidimensional like my desktop. There are actually many things to do on a website. Sometime I get caught up in the middle of updating one page when I want to move onto the next and twiddle with that and come back to my update later. Currently that is a long path of navigation only directed in one line of direction conducted with my mouse. Even roll over websites are limited in this function. I want my website to be my browser my desktop all in one. I know larger websites may find this more appealing and I know you can just open the links in new tabs or windows, but that is still limiting my line of direction which is still limited to the single click. I want multiple paths and multiple activities going on within one website. This is my new task. I guess this means segmenting your website into distinct layers and sections, each able to think independently from the rest without always redirecting me to a new window or page. Most tools are simple enough to make appear within small frames, they should even be able to disappear when actions within those windows are completed. And the completed actions should then update the other frames within my window. Now that would be an interactive website.

I believe what I am doing is much different than what is on the market, especially what is hyped up to be the next big thing like Feeva. Targeting based on bla is still bla, I don’t care how big of a computer you have. If people aren’t going to actually give you information and you are only going to take the scraps that they leave you or the bits and pieces that the Internet commissioner says you can legally use without having Internet users getting their hair standing on in, then how can you say you are the best behavioral targeting genius that is on this side of the hill? Well you can’t, and that is what I have been discovering. This not so new term called behavioral targeting is really a bunch of hoopla and it’s making a lot of people worried just because of the terminology.

I do agree with the part that you have to let people know what you are doing and saying how the information is used. But if you actually create a platform where people get to tell you how they want the information used, haven’t you saved the people from going into tale-spins worrying about who sees what and what they know?

By giving the user options and control over their information is the real key. Instead of people running in circles wondering how you are you going to use the information from late last night when they were searching for a honey on the Internet to target them, you should actually give them a choice about how they want to be profiled. Ask them a question! Say hey I saw you man, what are you up to, I know this isn’t your market and it doesn’t have anything to do with who you are, but even though you are here, what kind of information can you provide, your age, how many friends you have on Facebook, you like to party, you really keep to yourself and are pretty simple, what would be the one thing you would tell me if I knew you looked here? I’m going to use it to get rid of all the crappola that surrounds your surfing habits now and give you something that might make a little more sense to your life.

Maybe this is th only way to get information out of people. But the main purpose is say I will not give you more crap based on your habits, I will give you something you want me to, but to do so you have to reveal who you are in one little bit. Much like twitter, would you be afraid to twitter as to what you are doing late this one night? Maybe you won’t tell me exactly but that little tweet would be enough to change your experience and what is then given to you in return. Something much more in line with who you are.

This is really where the ’social’ part comes into the social shopping networking utility. As much as you would like to use all the coupons that come to you via Clickboards.net and all the ones you save to your account using Clickboards, you are probably going to get more than you need. They do expire, but why not make the most of them? In this format you can forward on coupons to friends and people in your network, earning you points. You can also get points from using the Clickboards around the Internet, and even each time you use the Clickcard when you purchase items.

So what do these points do for you and why should you take the time to manage them and share them? Well you can use these points for special discounts. It is like a store where you purchase coupons using your points. The more points you hand over, the bigger and more special the discounts you can select.

Advertisers can give you points for using the Clickcard on their site and basically the more you get involved with Clickboards.net the more points you get. So the more you control your account and the better the targeting and more sophisticated your filters and the more you open your privacy settings, the more benefit there is for you.

For instance if you sign up your phone with the account you could earn a designated number of points each month. Imagine going grocery shopping and paying for half your items with preferred customer points. With more people in your network and the more integrated you become with them, the more potential there is to acquire shared savings.

Everyone owns Clickboards and everyone can play with Clickboards.net. Everyone can use the Clickcard statistics. And that makes everyone a stakeholder.

At this point there are no stakeholders, not even myself. I am creating competition. Without competition and everyone vying for a piece of the Clickboard pie, then there will never be a Clickboard that is effective.

What I would like to see is major advertising agencies bringing their clients to the table, the main table. Basically Clickboards.net is advertising space. Clickboards.net Kiosks are advertising space. In the future the personalization of magazines, newspapers, television, and even the Internet will be space for Clickboard spawned ads.

The information from the Clickcard is advertising statistics which is for sale.

The Clickboard however is free. But, the Clickboards that I link to Clickboards.net will be allowed to put a small icon at the bottom right hand corner of the online ad to denote that it is a Clickboard and not a banner. Right now I am thinking a star with a mouse pointer on it.

Linking the condoned Clickboard to Clickboards.net and all the other services is fee based. This is determined individually upon client based on their requests and depth of use on this site.

So everyone is a player, everyone can make a Clickboard and make it link to anything. You can free of charge make Clickboards work with your own site. But you can’t use the icon and you can’t make it link to this network.

The stakeholders are the the same people. As an advertiser you have just as much say as to how much you are involved within the Clickboards.net network. Advertisers are the overhead.

In a world that is unrewarding for social networks, there is hope that a bridge can be built to connect you to your parents, your friends, your boss, and even all those strangers that you have dealt with in the past. The rewards come from common interest, even if you are not in a quite so common relation with each other.

If anyone out there is starting to be dismayed by Social Networks, you are probably not the only one. First of all, you have to have a different network for everyone you know. Some people you don’t want on your MySpace for sure, some people you call friends and want them on your Facebook, and still others you only want to have a professional network with them on LinkedIn. And then all those other networking sites like Twitter and Friend Feed can really seem like a joke to most people unless they are really close to you.

So what is a social network looking for? A bridge between all of these. Although many of these allow you to cross reference your contacts along all these networks, that is not what people are looking for. People don’t want to be pigeon holed by their boss about what they did on the Fourth of July, and they don’t want there friends to be out of their loop because their professor wants to keep in touch in a marginally sensitive way.

So what can people do to stay connected to everyone. That is a very tough question. People have to be rewarded for being in touch with one another. If I am connected to someone on the fringe, well that should benefit me right? Shouldn’t I be able to invite every single person in my gmail contacts to join some network of mine, one without boundaries?

The answer is yes. How? Well believe it or not we all have a lot in common. I think the most important thing we do is purchase items. This requires most of our concentration and effort when designing who we are. The second most important thing we do is design our resume and profile. I say resume because that used to be the old way of telling someone who you are. Now you can have online resumes that link to all your other profiles, and if you really believe in your blog that too.

So what platform can bring these two together. I believe it is Clickboards.net. First and most important, you once again create a basic profile and that is it. Second you use your Clickcard. Like some credit cards, your shopping history will be cataloged. You can then be rewarded for sharing the same interests as those in your network. So the more people in your network the more likely it is you will be rewarded for having a common interest.

This could be the movie you go see, the theater you see movies, the restaurants you visit, the happy hour bar you go to, the office supplies you buy, the advertising you buy, the websites you visit, the clothes you buy, the ingredients for food you cook at home.

The more you interlink yourself with your community the more you save. Thus you are rewarded for anyone that is in your network. There fore even connecting to those strangers brings you rewards. But remember it is up to you to set your privacy and filters. But the rewards are yours.

The truth of the matter is that most people aren’t carrying that many cards anymore. In fact the idea of so many cards may be outdated within the next few years. There are thoughts in the US for having a federal ID that you would carry around. This card is so advanced you could load the information from all your cards, drivers license, credit cards, reward cards, passport, AAA, all onto one card.

Yes this is still a card, but what I am saying is that there may be no need for a Clickcard in the future. All this could be stored on your car key or mobile phone. So the card is actually becoming outdated.

The point here is that most of these universal cards, keys, and phones will have a display on them for management purposes and probably GPS location so you will never worry about losing them and probably automatic locking features. The beauty here is that the Clickboards can be sent to these devices.

I’m not saying you will be harassed every time you walk by a McDonald’s for a cheeseburger. Actually only things that you have already stored at your Clickboards.net profile will be sent to you. So if you are out shopping and you are at the Galleria, you could get reminded that you acquired a $50 gift certificate at Banana Republic. Well then, it is now worth my time to go look around there.

Oh and when you check out, you’ll just pass your pager sized key over the register to pay and save.

So what you might ask after figuring out what a Clickboard is and what a Clickcard can do. Where is the money? You aren’t going to sell anymore Clickboards on Clickboards.net than anyone sells anywhere else. So where is the money? Yea advertisers will pay for the statistical information about which Clickboards were activated and general or specific user history, but how much money can that make? Coupons don’t make that much money!

So here is where you tickle the fancy of the advertiser. Take a magazine subscription. That magazine has their name on it right. Well it also has a bar code that was printed on it, and that bar code also comes with an address. If this person told Clickboards.net that they were subscribing to this magazine, then all the ads in that magazine could be drawn from their profile. Then an individualized magazine would be sent to them. Not one with just a bar code but one with all the ads in it tailored just for them.

What does this mean for the magazine? In the same place they used to sell one ad, now they sell five or ten. Ad prices go down and revenue goes up.
